simple quiet and powerful, compatible with old blender too…great! I use my blender to make very thick smoothies with oatmeal in them, and that’s a real strain on my past blenders’ motors. This new blender arrived today and had no problem mixing the smoothie that I made in my older Black and Decker earlier. The old blender’s top fits on the new blender’s motor and works fine.I’m very pleased!

Runs well, blends well, has an excellent and well designed lid and jar. I tend to be fairly demanding of blenders. I generally use a KitchenAid ProLine 6.5amp Blender which is no longer manufactured. The base of that model is solid heavy metal that doesn’t budge when the blender starts up, but there are significant problems with the original jar. Made of polycarbonate, it tends to leak water into the spinning blade section, then rust, and eventually the rust starts getting into the food area. Good solid ice-crushing blender at a reasonable price I have a kind of love/hate relationship with Black+Decker. Some of their products are just abysmal (my hedge trimmer, though it’s a kind of old model) and some, like this blender, are pretty good for the price.
